Artist Statement:
The foundation of my works draw us closer to the image of nature, or make us perceive this, is found in my compositional representation of the subject. From a lateral glance, the layers of paint give the representation of a location in one’s imagination, with beams of light breaking through, making one blink, and the plasticity of the paint giving the work a true depth. Or the forms, really gaining importance as vertical constructive elements, and enhancing the dynamism in the work. Above all, completely covering the work with tape and creating contrast with spray paint, provides a light effect reaping a dual functionality. And this New York scene with my own expression is made to draw the attention of the viewer to the city’s vivid and colorful life. Twin towers appearance and may be disappearance makes a reflection with the statue of liberty and aims to give a message to the humanity with my unique way of expression.
