“The Watching” tries to depict a crack between two layers of reality.
In the first, nature has recaptured most of what is made by human.
In the second layer civilization is dominating and action is only imposed after a process of deliberation and cognition.
The woman in the foreground is ruptured by the crack of the two layers. This is visualized by her right arm dissolved by the first layer. The interaction between the two layers is so far limited. On the right corner some monkeys make the leap on the other side. But making it to the other side changed them and they turn into a surreal element.
