Artist Statement
My work encompasses the use of fibers, different gauges and colors of yarn, fixed on canvass by acrylic or latex paint. In each painting the viewer is presented with a chaotic, representation of color within a defined space to maintain rhythm and form. Combining my background in art history with my life-long experience with different types of fibers, my work incorporates aesthetic theory of line with the cultural heritage of women’s work to create a contemporary sculptural painting.
