American Visions & Voices Exhibition

The Broadway Gallery NYC is pleased to announce the American Visions & Voices Exhibition.

The exhibition, which is part of Celebration 2008 The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, will be on show from Monday June, 2- Friday June 13th, with an opening reception on Friday, June 6, 2008 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

This event will celebrate the 85th anniversary of The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. From the first 7 entries received in 1923 to the over 100,000 received this year, the growth of The Awards program has been truly remarkable.

The Alliance will honor this year’s national recipients on June 5, 2008 at Carnegie Hall when more than 550 award winners will attend the National Awards Ceremony and be recognized for their achievement in The Awards of 2008.

The Alliance is also celebrating the rich cultural history of The Awards by presenting the first Alumni Achievement Award. Distinguished past award recipients Philip Pearlstein (1941 and 1942) and Joyce Maynard (1966, 1967, 1968, 1970, and 1971) will be honored for their achievements by artist Chuck Close and author Meg Wolitzer during national events.

The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers presents the National Art Exhibition of The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Students who have earned national Gold Awards and American Visions & Voices Awards will have their works displayed in internationally recognized art galleries in New York City’s Chelsea and SoHo art districts as part of Celebration 2008
